The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is designed for anyone ready to take their wine knowledge deeper—whether you work in hospitality, are building a career in wine, or simply want to feel genuinely confident choosing, tasting, and talking about wine.
Over four relaxed, interactive evenings, we’ll explore the world’s major grape varieties and wine regions, how climate, grape growing, and winemaking influence what ends up in your glass, and how to confidently describe and assess wines using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting®.
You’ll leave with a much deeper understanding of the wines you already love—and the knowledge to discover a whole lot more.
Some prior wine knowledge is helpful, but you do not need to have completed WSET Level 1 to enroll. And, as always: no snobbery required.

What Is the WSET Level 2 Exam?
The course includes four evenings of instruction followed by a dedicated exam night on November 17. The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is assessed by a 50-question multiple-choice examination.
WSET Level 2 San Diego FAQs
Do I need to take WSET Level 1 before Level 2?
No. You do not need to complete WSET Level 1 before enrolling in Level 2. Some prior wine knowledge is helpful, but Level 1 is not a prerequisite.
